  • Hong Kong develops chip named after Lion Rock

A Hong Kong developed chip named after the city's iconic Lion Rock has officially entered mass productio. The newly launched chip “The Lion Rock Chip” is the world’s first data centre management chip based on the RISC-V instruction set, which is the fifth generation of reduced instruction set computing. It features open-source code which could help overcome commercial and political barriers. The product is funded by a family office established by Henderson Land Chairman Peter Lee and the Hong Kong Investment Corporation.
