22 May 2026 In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses. Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 19 May 2026 at 11:50 AM, a report stated that the deceased and injured individuals with shrapnel injuries had been brought to Taungoo Township Public Hospital in Bago Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victims were identified as a resident of No. 19 Ward U Khun Htike Aung (aka) Khal Pay (31 years old), residents of No 23 Ward U Saw Sein Min (35 years old), U Saw Yo Aye La (32 years old), Ma Naw Hal Nay Say (30 years old), Ma Naw Ywar Hay Lal Bwal (33 years old), a resident of Mon Kone Village. According to the investigation, the victims were traveling by car from Mon Kone Village to Taungoo Town. While the vehicle reached the area between mileposts 5/6 and 5/7 on the Taungoo-Late Tho Road between 5/6 and 5/7, an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists exploded on the roadside. As a result, U Khun Htike Aung (aka) Khal Pay, while the remaining individuals sustained shrapnel injuries, it is reported. Similarly, on 20 May 2026 at 1:15 PM, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Taning Township Public Hospital in Kachin State. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as U Ga Laung Naw Maing (56 years old), a resident Kin Sar Ward in Taning. According to the investigation, while the victim was on his way to a charcoal production area located between Nam Phyat Yan Village and Tein Kauk Village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted near the area by a combined group of KIA insurgents and so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported. Tatmadaw completely regained control in northern Chin State after recapturing Tonzang town. On 23rd April 2023, Tonzang Township in Chin State (North) was temporarily taken control by the so-called CDF, CNA and PDF terrorist groups.During their occupation, the terrorists killed and injured the departmental personnel and local residents, forcibly recruited residents and compelled them to work for terrorists’ benefit. They monopolized the businesses run by the residents, and blocked the communication routes, disrupting commodity flow and causing severe socio-economic deterioration in the area.As a result, many residents were forced to flee their homes. Tatmadaw has been conducting counter-terrorism operation in terrorists controlled townships, villages and regions. Their efforts paid off with the successful regaining of full control of Falam on 25th April 2026 and necessary regional development and security measures have been accelerated since then.Tatmadaw continued the security operations and recaptured the full control of Tonzang Township on 20th May. Along their retreat route, the terrorists destroyed roads and bridges aiming to cause hardship in transportation.
