Opening ceremony of Myanmar-Korean drama series “All Pass” held
The opening ceremony of the first Myanmar-Korean youth drama series “All Pass” was held in conjunction with media gathering yesterday morning at the southwest corner of the Shwedagon Pagoda.
The ceremony was attended by officials from Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), officials from Korea’s KK Media, Korean director Mr Shim Ki Won and his assistant directing team, Korean-Myanmar actors participating in the series, and other film technical experts.
The drama was produced to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Myanmar, promote cultural exchange, and inspire young audiences. Young actors from both countries were carefully selected, and filming will take place in Korea and Myanmar.
The casting of Myanmar actors for the series was conducted by a Korean directing team through three auditions in October 2025, and January and February 2026. The auditions included participants who had appeared as receptionists at the Myanmar Film Academy Awards, such as Lin Let Khun Cho, Pyae Sone, Si Sam Kyaw Zaw, Mae Chit Thet, Thurain Min Khant, and Phyo Han Kyaw, as well as staff artistes from MRTV, including Eaindra Soe San, Kyaw Thet Aung, Yazar Aung, and Mya Nanda.
A similar audition was held in Korea on 24 September 2025, with a total of 80 young men and women competing. Famous Korean actors who have appeared in numerous TV series, including Mo Gun-hoo, Park San-ha, and Cho Chan-hyung, were chosen as the main actors, while Song Jung-hwan, Jang Eun-young, Lee Je-na, Cho Won-hyung, Yoo Jun-hyuk, and Lee Si-yoon were selected through the audition process.
The series will be co-produced by MRTV and Korea’s KK Media Co Ltd with production scheduled for completion and broadcast in March 2026. It will air on MRTV and on IHQ in Korea. — MNA/TH
