Myanmar’s Cars and Spare Parts Biggest Expo 2026, held for three days from 20 to 22 February at the People’s Square in Yangon, achieved 100 accumulated vehicle sales, attracting 8,6699 visitors.
This expo was managed by SPEC Event Management and jointly organized by the Yangon Region Road Safety Council (MORS), the Myanmar Automobile Manufacturer and Distributor Association (MAMDA), the Yangon Region Automobile Manufacturer and Distributor Association (YRAMDA) and the Myanmar Automotive Components and Accessories Association (MYACSAA).
The expo is crucial for car brokers, traders, car lovers, industry professionals and those interested in the automotive industry to explore, validate and procure the latest in mobility and automotive accessories.
“The expo showcased Brand New EV Cars, fuel Cars, used Cars, components, spare parts and branded automotive accessories with 60 stalls, strengthening payment security and displaying car insurance policies service. We like to express our appreciation to exhibitors, visitors and partners,” said a representative of SPEC Event Management. — ASH/KK

The final coordination meeting concerning the Draft Law for the Development and Protection of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on February 25th.The meeting was attended by the Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than, Deputy Minister, Deputy Attorney General, the Director General of the Legislative Vetting Department, the Director General of the Department of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, and responsible officials.Following the opening remarks by the Union Minister and Union Attorney General, the Union Minister for Industry clarified that the drafting of a new Law for the Development and Protection of Micro, Small amd Medium Enterprises was undertaken based on recommendations from the Ministry of Legal Affairs.At the Central Committee for MSME Development meeting (1/2023), it was decided to repeal the 2015 Small and Medium Enterprises Development Law and enact a new law rather than amend the existing one, incorporating digital economy aspects, research activities, and start-up business operations that were not included in the previous legislation.Responsible officials attending the meeting then discussed and presented the contents of the draft law article by article. The Union Minister and Union Attorney General reviewed and finalized coordination on the draft law, noting that it is an appropriate piece of legislation that should be enacted to successfully implement the State's MSME development policy, ensure alignment with current conditions, and contribute to the country's economic development, it’s reported.mitv

The Myanmar Investment Commission held its meeting No. (2/2026) on February 25th at the Meeting Hall, Office No. (5) in Nay Pyi Taw. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Myanmar Investment Commission, Union Minister U Mya Tun Oo, and Commission members.During the meeting, the Commission approved, including capital increases for existing investment enterprises, two new foreign investment enterprises from the industrial sector and 15 new Myanmar citizen investment enterprises. The investment amount for these enterprises is 7.644 million USD and 557.907 billion Kyats, which will create 2,449 job opportunities.The enterprises approved at this meeting include electric vehicle assembly, production, and sales businesses, which are critically needed for the country, foodstuff production businesses, livestock businesses, agricultural input production businesses, as well as residential building construction businesses and garment manufacturing businesses that will create numerous job opportunities.Among the 53 countries/regions investing in Myanmar as of the end of January 2026, the countries/regions making the most investments are Singapore, China, and Thailand. Among the 12 economic sectors, the most invested sectors are the electric power sector with 28.27 percent of total investment, the oil and natural gas sector with 24.62 percent and the industrial sector with 14.65 percent.The Myanmar Investment Commission is reviewing and approving investment proposals submitted by domestic and foreign investors, as well as providing investment-related services for existing investors in accordance with the Myanmar Investment Law, it’s reported.mitv

The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) injected 2.1 million baht and US$180,000 into the market on 24 February, in addition to selling over $2.5 million to edible oil-importing companies.CBM sold $1.1 million, purchased from CMP companies, to edible oil-importing companies, in addition to selling 260,000 yuan in the market.CBM announced on 20 November that it would sell $30 million to fuel oil importers. CBM also injected $543,000 and 1.3 million baht into the market after selling $1.35 million to edible oil- importing companies on the same day.CBM pumped over 971,900 yuan and 4 million baht into the market, and sold over $1.84 million to edible oil importing companies.CBM sold $900,000 to edible oil-importing companies and $2 million to fuel oil-importing companies on 18 February, along with an injection of $2 million, 130,000 yuan and over 679,540 baht on that day.CBM sold over $43 million, 65 million baht and over four million yuan in January 2026.CBM aims to curb the instability in the foreign exchange market and currency devaluation. According to CBM’s notification on 15 March 2024, it has been collaborating with law enforcement agencies to combat and prosecute those who attempt to manipulate the currency market under the existing laws. CBM allowed authorized dealers (private banks) to operate online foreign exchange trading freely as per the market rate, depending on supply and demand, starting from 5 December 2023. — NN/KKgnlm

For exporting dried taro stems to the Republic of Korea, interested export companies are invited, said the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Association.The Fresh Leaders Co Ltd in Incheon has imported agricultural products from Vietnam, Thailand and China and then distributed their imports to local well-known companies – Ottogi Corporation and CJ Group.The notification sent from the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization says the Korean company has offered to export dried taro stems as an ingredient of Korean spicy beef soup, MFVP said.
