  • Ayeyawady Region boosts direct grain exports via Pathein port

The Ayeyawady Region government has announced that maize produced within Ayeyawady Region will be directly exported to Ranong Port in Thailand via the Pathein Industrial Port.
Strategy Win Trading Company and AEG Company will jointly export 1,800 tonnes of maize in June under a direct shipment arrangement.
In the coming financial year, maize produced in Ayeyawady Region will continue to be directly exported to Thailand and other foreign countries via the Pathein Industrial Port.
Imported goods from abroad will likewise be directly brought into the country through the same port, according to the Ayeyawady Region government. — ASH/MKKS

At the schools, teachers and responsible officials were accepting student enrollments, and the Chief Minister observed and encouraged their activities. Officials explained the progress of the enrollment process, and the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions and warmly greeted the students.For the 2026–2027 academic year, school enrollment across townships in Yangon Region will be conducted from May 25 to May 31. State Chief Minister U Aunt Maw on Wednesday, visited Loilem Lay  Township and oversaw the healthcare provision and school enrollment process.At Sasana Yaung Chi Monastery, the Chief  Minister paid respect to the presiding Sayadaw and donated cash assistance for the renovation of the monastery. Upon arrival at Loilem Lay Station Hospital, the Chief Minister oversaw the healthcare provision and medical storage condition.The Chief Minister gave instructions on sufficient medical supplies,  and convenient accommodation of the service personnel. He also provided cash assistance for the patients.Subsequently, the Chief Minister and party proceeded to Loilem Lay Basic Education High School, the Chief Minister oversaw the school enrollment process and provided school uniforms and school supplies.Later, the Chief Minister and party visited Kone Soot  Village Monastery and donated offertories to the presiding Sayadaw. A coordination meeting on increasing agricultural production was held on the afternoon of May 16 at Meeting Hall (1) of the Ayeyarwady Region Government Office. The meeting was attended by Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, who delivered an opening address.First, the Chief Minister stated that agricultural inputs provided through the national economic promotion fund must be effectively delivered to farmers, and quality inputs must arrive on time.He also said that all relevant departments and responsible officials must cooperate together to achieve target crop yields, ensure accurate cultivated acreage records and crop yield data, and promote the socio-economic development of farmers.Afterwards, the Chief Minister discussed and coordinated necessary matters in response to presentations and discussions made by government ministers attending the meeting and members of the Agricultural Production Improvement Supervisory Committee.In the morning on May 27, the 29th commemorative painting, cartoon, poster, and computer graphic competition marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was held at Basic Education High School No. (11) (Myoma) in Pathein. Search operations are ongoing in central Laos for seven villagers trapped for a week in a flooded cave. The group became stuck after heavy rains and flash floods blocked the exit since May 19.
