More than 30,000 acres of rainfed paddy planted in Kyunhla Township this year

Statistics of the township Agriculture Department, Kyunhla Township of Sagaing Region has planted 34,099 acres of monsoon paddy in the township this year.
In the 2025-2026 monsoon crop season, Kyunhla Township planned to cultivate 34,097 acres of rainfed paddy. Cultivation began in July this year, and to date 34,099 acres have been completed, exceeding the target.
“This year, Kyunhla Township set a target of cultivating 34,097 acres of rainfed paddy. Up to now, 34,099 acres have been planted, surpassing the plan. Technical support and quality seeds were provided as needed, enabling farmers to carry out timely cultivation,” said Daw Myint Myint Yi, Head of the Kyunhla Township Department of Agriculture.
During this year’s monsoon crop season, the township’s Department of Agriculture has been working in cooperation with local farm-
ers to ensure systematic cultivation without difficulties.
Farmers have been provided with agricultural knowledge, pest control awareness, and guidance to prevent crop losses, as well as instructions on timely storage of harvested paddy under shelter.
Officials and staff of the township Department of Agriculture are also carrying out field activities to ensure successful harvests and good yields. These include encouraging the use of quality and pure seed varieties, pest prevention, proper weeding and thinning, removal of mixed varieties, and systematic use of fertilizers.
