Myanmar drama series ‘Seven Kinds of Night’ premieres in Yangon
The launch event for the Myanmar drama series ‘Seven Kinds of Night’ was held on 26 October at the M3 Food Centre in Yangon Region, according to director P Kay.
The story was originally written by director P Kay and adapted into a screenplay by Phyo Thinzar Kyaw and Yamin Khant. The 16-episode series, directed by P Kay, will be produced by Mee Mee Mway Film Production.
“I created this story about six years ago, back when we were filming another series with Ma Pauk Si. I first wrote it then, and I’ve now brought Ma Pauk Si into this project as well. I felt I hadn’t given her enough of a challenge in the earlier series ‘Myitlettet’, so I wanted to involve her again. Seven Kinds of Night was originally conceived as a drama featuring seven actors, but as time passed, the actors I had in mind grew older, so I had to recast. The seven actors in this series each bring a distinct character type,” explained director P Kay.
The cast features several well-known artistes, including Aye Wuttyi Thaung, Zaw Shine Htet, Vitamin, Nyan Min Sett, Ye Thway Thiha, Ye Yint Phone, Nyi Nanda, Jay, and many others. — ASH/MKKS
