In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.
Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 27 December 2025 at 8:45 PM, a combined group of KNU/KNLA terrorists and so-called PDF terrorists detonated landmines around Myawaddy Township of Kayin State. Incidents included a landmine detonated on the traffic medians at the corner of the Ba Yint Naung Street and Pyi Khine Phyo Street in No. 4 Ward, at 9:20 PM, another landmine detonated on Ba Yint Naung Street in the same ward, at 10:00 PM, a landmine planted and detonated near the Sub Basic Education High School in No. 5 Ward. As a result of the explosions, a vehicle and 10 houses were significantly damaged. Additionally, Ma Hnin Shwe Yi Win (12 years old girl), a resident of No. 4 Ward, died on the spot. Moreover, Ma Moe Myint Myint Thein (20 years old), U Kyaw San Oo (53 years old), deputy head of the Union Solidarity and Development Party in the ward, both residents of No. 4 Ward, Daw Moe Moe San (45 years old) and U Min Lwin (58 years old), both residents of Thingyan Nyi Naung Village, sustained shrapnel injuries. The deceased and injured individuals were transported to Myawaddy District Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.
It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.
