  • MTB and YRYEA sign MoU for young entrepreneurs

Myanma Tourism Bank (MTB) and Yangon Region Young Entrepreneurs Association (YRYEA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a robust financial and business environment for young entrepreneurs.

They plan to establish a strong financial and business ecosystem for young entrepreneurs, according to MTB.

The partnership between MTB and YRYEA aims to create a solid financial and economic environment for young startup founders. Through this collaboration, they intend to jointly provide networking opportunities, capacity-building training programmes, and knowledge-sharing initiatives for business owners.

The MoU was signed with the further objective of implementing joint projects that will be mutually beneficial for both organizations.

At the ceremony, the agreement was signed by U Win Lwin, Chief Executive Officer of MTB, and U Lwan Ye Thu, Vice President (3) of YRYEA. Daw Chit Su Han, Executive Director of MTB, and Daw Kant Kaw Khin, Joint Secretary (2) of YRYEA, participated as witnesses to the successful signing.

NMDC to conduct DTSM, DPP online diploma course
The National Management Degree College (NMDC) under the Ministry of Education will offer one-year diploma courses – Diploma in Tourism Studies and Management (DTSM) and Diploma in Public Policy (DPP) – starting from 26 March.Those holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university are eligible to join the course. The course fee is K200,000. It will be open from 6:30 pm to 8 pm every Monday to Saturday and 4:30 pm to 8 pm on Sundays. Interested individuals can apply for it at the NMDC on the 6th floor of the main building on Merchant Street, Botahtaung Township, Yangon, by 25 March, along with three licence-sized photos, a copy of a bachelor’s, and the citizenship scrutiny card. The Myanmar Golf Federation, with Mandalay Business Capital City Development Ltd and Bago Yoma Eco Resort as major sponsors, held the opening ceremony and first day of the Mandalay leg of the 2026 MGF Chairman’s Cup on 24 February at Yedagon Taung Golf Course in Mandalay.Officials from the Myanmar Golf Federation, Mandalay Business Capital City Development Limited, Phyo Si Thu Teak Plantation (Myanmar), Bago Yoma Eco Resort, and Yedagon Taung Golf Course, along with players and guests, attended the ceremony.During the opening event, Myanmar Golf Federation Chairman U Ko Ko Aye, Vice Chairman and Upper Myanmar Golf Federation Sub-Committee Chairman U Tin Ko Ko, Joint General Secretary U Tin Maung Maung Win, Central Executive Member U Soe, Upper Myanmar Golf Federation Sub-Committee Vice Chairman U Hla Soe Oo, and Yedagon Taung Golf Course General Manager U Thant Zin Oo officially inaugurated the tournament with ceremonial tee shots. The first round of 18 holes then commenced.A total of 232 players are competing in the tournament: 23 professionals, 23 senior professionals, 140 male amateurs, and 46 female amateurs.The Mandalay leg of the competition will run for four days from 24 to 27 February at Yedagun Taung Golf Course. On the evening of February 24, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, accompanied by the State Ministers and other officials, conducted a field inspection of the People’s Hospital and special reforestation sites in Yat Sauk .The Chief Minister and officials toured the hospital’s X-ray room, staff housing, the laboratory, the Tuberculosis (TB) department.The Medical Superintendent of Yat Sauk People’s Hospital provided a detailed briefing on hospital operations. The Chief Minister instructed that cleanliness and maintenance activities must be carried out every Saturday. Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman Union Minister for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by other concerned officials, inspected upgrading works at Aung San Indoor Stadium in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon, on February 23.They oversaw the stands, gymnasiums, meeting halls, offices, and designated buildings within the stadium. The Union Minister instructed officials to oversee demolition and reconstruction in stages, ensuring structures can withstand earthquakes, natural disasters, and weather. Working committees and subcommittees were also organized to carry out the upgrades.The Union Minister and party also visited the indoor volleyball stadium. They enjoyed the Myanmar Volleyball Social Association Executive Cup Yangon Region Volleyball Tournament U-25, with the Chairman of the Myanmar Volleyball Federation.
