The Kachin State Government is arranging measures to ease water and electricity shortages during the maintenance of the Chipwe Nge Hydroelectric Power Plant, the state’s main power source. On Tuesday morning, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan met religious associations in Myitkyina and donated fuel.In his speech, the Chief Minister said steps were in place to ensure access to electricity and drinking water during the temporary outage. He added that state fuel reserves are being distributed at low reference prices to support government departments, security units and associations for continued operations. Fuel is being provided free of charge to religious organizations in Myitkyina and Mohnyin districts to support water supply and electricity generation.During the meeting, the officials reported on arrangements for public charging access, water availability and affordable fuel supply.The Chief Minister then distributed a total of 66 gallons of fuel to 41 religious organizations in Myitkyina for the two-week outage.In the afternoon, the Chief Minister attended a ceremony at the Myitkyina Township Joint Office to provide assistance to temporarily displaced person in Waingmaw Township. A total of 162 bags of rice and 162 viss of cooking oil were distributed to 485 displaced households in temporary relief camps in Ward No. (1) and Ward No. (3) of WaingMaw Township.A camp representative later expressed words of thanks, while the Chief Minister urged coordinated efforts to ensure safe shelter for displaced families ahead of the monsoon season and to support their return home in stability.The Chief Minister and officials also attended the final round between MyoTwin and Kachin Su Men futsal team at Nyein Chan TharYar Futsal Stadium and provided cash assistance for the event.mitv

A ceremony for the harvesting of a 2025-2026 summer paddy model plot and the distribution of monsoon paddy seeds, fertilizers, direct-seeding devices (Drum Seeders), and two-panel solar sets was held on April 21 at the farmland of farmer U Aung Lwin in Thanatpyin Village, Hlegu Township, Yangon Region.During the ceremony, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered the opening remarks. Following this, relevant officials presented briefings on the progress of agricultural activities and paddy cultivation within Hlegu District, as well as the status of Drum Seeder distribution and utilization across the region.The Chief Minister and members of the regional government then formally presented the monsoon paddy seeds, fertilizers, Drum Seeders, and solar sets to local farmers.
