An honoring ceremony conducted by the President-elect was held at Thabin Hall of the Office of the National Defence and Security Council’s Chairman on Sunday. President-elect, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, stating that the Tatmadaw assumed the State’s responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution due to electoral fraud during the 2020 general election.He added that the Tatmadaw carried out the State’s duties while overcoming various challenges and difficulties, including the COVID-19 global pandemic. The Tatmadaw also declared a state of emergency as the country faced rising unrest caused by destructive acts. Moreover, the country faced natural disasters, including Cyclone Mocha, Typhoon Yagi, and the devastating Mandalay earthquake.These riots and natural disasters caused many deaths and casualties, disrupted the momentum of development, and damaged infrastructure. The State’s economy declined due to various difficulties. The Tatmadaw had to strive to improve the stability of the State, ensure the rule of law, and promote rehabilitation, development, and economic recovery. Through the collective efforts of dedicated service personnel and loyal citizens, the State regained stability and progress. The President-elect expressed his appreciation to those who contributed to achieving stability and development in the nation.He added that leadership plays a key role in any industry and that the duties of leaders are of paramount importance. He also expressed his appreciation to his colleagues who participated alongside him in implementing national objectives and carrying out their duties during his tenure.The Senior General also stressed that, due to the efforts of the people, the Tatmadaw will transfer the State’s responsibilities to a new government that will strive for the emergence of a developed nation through a democratic system. Highlighting this historic milestone in the country’s transition to democracy, the President-elect praised the efforts of all those involved in safeguarding the nation from danger, upholding the Union spirit. He urged all to continue cooperating to build the future nation while nurturing the new generation youths for the long-term development of the State.Then the President-elect presented honorary gifts to Vice-Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission, Vice Senior General Soe Win, Committee member Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Commission member U Aung Lin Dwe, Commission Secretary Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, Commission members, Union level officals and Union Ministers. This was followed by presenting of honorary gifts of the President-elect to Union level officials, Deputy Ministers and Deputy Minister levels personnel.
