A ceremony to review the achievements in developing the energy sector from 2021 to 2025 and to brief on future measures to be undertaken by the Ministry of Energy was held on March 11in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union Minister stated that over the five-year period, the Ministry had been able to implement measures and drive progress in various sectors: the exploration sector; the sector focused on strict maintenance and repair to prevent leakage and loss during the transportation of natural gas via pipelines; the sector involving the maintenance, upgrading, and new construction of refineries to achieve self-sufficiency in refined petroleum products; and the sector for inspecting and monitoring the entire import and distribution process of petroleum products.

He noted that to develop the most crucial aspect, human resources, a committee had been formed and was able to implement capacity-building activities in practical fields. Furthermore, a committee had been established to conduct research and development activities across various areas related to the energy sector, which had not only led to increased output but also laid a solid foundation for the adoption of modern technologies.

The ceremony was attended by responsible officials from the Ministry of Energy, as well as officers and staff from its factories, oil fields, enterprises, and stations, via a Video Conferencing system.

A giant pipe has emerged about 13 meters above a road in a busy district of central Osaka, western Japan. The city is investigating the cause of the incident, and restoration work is underway. Osaka city officials said an iron pipe measuring 3.5 meters in diameter was discovered protruding from the road shortly before 7a.m. local time on Wednesday.Thirteen meters of the 30-meter-long pipe had been pushed vertically out of the ground beneath the elevated Shin-Midosuji highway in the city’s Kita Ward. The opening ceremony of the Refresher Course No. 1/2026for Staff Officers, under the Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on March 11th.Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Tin Oo Lwin, attended and delivered the opening address. During the ceremony, the Union Minister delivered the opening speech stating that the trainees need to successfully implement the policies of the ministry.These policies include: ensuring every citizen residing in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has the right to freely profess their religion in accordance with the Constitution, and fostering and safeguarding amicable relations among members of different faiths, working to preserve, protect, and propagate the Buddha Sasana, and supporting the unity of Sangha members from all fraternal orders, taking measures to cultivate a society where all citizens possess good morals and are refined and polite and coordinating and cooperating on international religious affairs.He emphasized the importance of successfully implementing these policies. The 10th Anniversary Ceremony of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs was held in the morning of March 11th at the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.Union Minister for Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, attended the event. At the ceremony marking the anniversary, which included an offering of alms, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, and officials took the Five Precepts from the members of Sangha.They then offered cash and donation items, performed sharing merits and offered ‘soon’ (day meal) to the members of Sangha. Continuing with the 10th Anniversary Ceremony, the Union Minister stated that the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs was initially formed under the law protecting the rights of ethnic nationalities, and that March 30, 2026, will mark its 10th anniversary.He emphasized that all staff must continuously keep in view the Ministry's objectives, duties, policies, goals, and vision. He expressed his wish that, from this 10th anniversary onwards, they would be able to work even more diligently for their Ministry, all ethnic people, and the State for many years to come.Subsequently, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, and officials took a commemorative group photo with the staff.
