A ceremony to review the achievements in developing the energy sector from 2021 to 2025 and to brief on future measures to be undertaken by the Ministry of Energy was held on March 11in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Union Minister stated that over the five-year period, the Ministry had been able to implement measures and drive progress in various sectors: the exploration sector; the sector focused on strict maintenance and repair to prevent leakage and loss during the transportation of natural gas via pipelines; the sector involving the maintenance, upgrading, and new construction of refineries to achieve self-sufficiency in refined petroleum products; and the sector for inspecting and monitoring the entire import and distribution process of petroleum products.

He noted that to develop the most crucial aspect, human resources, a committee had been formed and was able to implement capacity-building activities in practical fields. Furthermore, a committee had been established to conduct research and development activities across various areas related to the energy sector, which had not only led to increased output but also laid a solid foundation for the adoption of modern technologies.

The ceremony was attended by responsible officials from the Ministry of Energy, as well as officers and staff from its factories, oil fields, enterprises, and stations, via a Video Conferencing system.
