  • Myanmar to share traditional textile preservation experience at ASEAN Talks

Traditional crafts such as designing and hand-weaving traditional textiles are facing the risk of disappearing, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
With the rapid advancement of technology and the expansion of industrial production, skills such as traditional textile design and hand-weaving are increasingly under threat of decline. As a result, the preservation and promotion of traditional textile designs have become an especially important issue in the present day.
To address the risk that activities such as traditional textile design and hand-weaving may disappear, management discussions on the preservation and promotion of traditional textile designs among ASEAN countries are being organized. Myanmar will present papers at these meetings, share its experiences, and exchange best practices. In addition, the participating ASEAN countries will jointly discuss the challenges encountered in preservation efforts and seek solutions together. — ASH/MKKS
