As the event’s main focus, Gujarat’s GIFT City was positioned as a preferred hub for global capital flows, offering an internationally aligned regulatory framework and competitive tax environment. For the Indian-Canadian business community, the event signaled growing collaboration between the two economies particularly in areas like capital markets, fintech, and institutional investment.

Japan’s Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae has instructed a newly launched government taskforce to ensure stable supplies of oil-related products amid the Middle East conflict.The government held a meeting of relevant Cabinet ministers at the Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday morning. The ministers were briefed on Japan’s diplomatic efforts in bringing the conflict under control. The government’s efforts to address the economic impact at home were also reported on.These included the release of oil stockpiles and using subsidies to keep the price of gasoline, diesel and heavy oil from rising. Takaichi said she hopes that the government will secure sufficient amounts of crude oil and oil products that will be needed across Japan. She added that she hopes to seek diversified procurement sources.mitv

Japan's Nikkei tumbled over five percent in early trade Monday and South Korea's Kospi was down more than four percent after the price of oil rose again with no end in sight for the war in the Middle East.The price of the main US benchmark for oil, West Texas Intermediate, was up 3.23 percent at around 0015 GMT, once again surpassing $100 a barrel to reach $102.86. Egypt had ordered shops, restaurants and shopping malls to close at night from Saturday, hoping to curb energy bills that had more than doubled.Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced the curfew and said it would last for a month initially, adding that on Thursdays and Fridays at the weekend they will be allowed to stay open until 10 pm.Madbouly also said Egypt must work on the worst-case scenario in the face of a war whose outcome is unpredictable. Russia to ban on gasoline exports from April 1
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on Friday had instructed the Ministry of Energy to draft a government decree to ban gasoline exports starting from April 1, 2026. Following a meeting on the domestic fuel market, Russian government said in a statement that the measure aims to stabilize prices and ensure priority supply to the domestic market.During the meeting, Novak noted that turbulence in the global oil and petroleum product market caused by the Mideast crisis is leading to significant price fluctuations. He added that strong demand for Russian energy resources in foreign markets remains a positive factor.mitv
