Three people have been seriously injured after scaffolding about 40 meters high collapsed at a steel mill in Kawasaki City, near Tokyo. Police suspect the accident was caused by the impact of a 500-ton weight that came off a crane. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at a construction site of JFE Steel's East Japan Works in Keihin District. Police are also investigating whether there were any problems with the safety management of the work.
