The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) will continue the free summer football skills course as the second batch in five cities starting from 20 April.
Under the theme “Learn, Play, Enjoy”, MFF conducted the first batch from 9 March to 8 April, and now the second batch has also been planned to continue from 20 April to 20 May in Yangon, Mandalay, Taunggyi, Pathein and Mawlamyine.
The completion ceremony of the first batch of the free football training course, which aims to help students to spend the summer holidays usefully and encourage young football players of the next generation to appear, was held on 8 April at the Academy Artificial Turf in Yangon.
In the first batch, about 1700 students aged between 10 and 15 years – 500 from Yangon, plus 200 futsal trainees, 400 from Taunggyi and 200 from Pathein and Mawlamyine – were taught basic football techniques and were given free training uniforms. Completion certificates were also awarded at the ceremony. — MT/ZS/Ed

The Buddha Abhiseka (consecration) ceremony and the merit-sharing to mark the successful completion of the 7th offering of entirely gilding the VaradāḷāDhātu Cetiya Sacred Tooth Relic Pagoda in Yangon by the Board of Trustees was held in the morning of April 8 at the pagoda, located in Mayangone Township, Yangon Region.The event was attended by the Ovādācariya Sayadaws, Chief Minister of Yangon Region U Soe Thein, region ministers, departmental officials, members of the Board of Trustees, invited guests, and responsible personnel. First, the Ovādācariya Sayadaws performed the Buddha Abhiseka consecration. Afterwards, the participants took the Eight Precepts from the Ovādācariya Sayadaw, who is also the Chairman Sayadaw of the Yangon Region Sangha Nayaka Committee and the Presiding Sayadaw of the TipiṭakaLaṅkāra Pariyatti Sarthintaik Monastery, Bhaddanta Aggasāmi .Subsequently, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, member (administration) U TunShwe submitted a summary report on the completion of the 7th offering of entirely gilding the pagoda to the Ovādācariya Sayadaws. Then, responsible officials offered offertories to the Ovādācariya Sayadaws. Afterwards, the Ovādācariya Sayadaw of the Board of Trustees of the VaradāḷāDhātu Cetiya (Yangon), who is also the Rector of the International Theravāda Buddhist Missionary University, Professor Dr. BhaddantaSekinda, delivered the sermon, followed by the pouring of water to share merits, it’s reported.mitv

WHO suspends Gaza medical evacuations after contract worker killed
The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed it suspended medical evacuations from Gaza after a contracted worker was killed during a security incident on Monday. According to WHO, two staff members were present at the time but were not injured. The organization expressed condolences to the victim’s family and said the incident is under investigation.  Christian Lindmeier, WHO spokesperson said " Medical evacuations will remain suspended until further notice. We are deeply grateful to our colleagues who work day and night despite the risks to ensure that the people of Gaza can access the health care they need. We call for the protection of civilians and humanitarian workers. Peace is the best medicine."Following the killing, WHO halted a planned medical evacuation of patients from Gaza through Rafah to Egypt. The agency said evacuations will remain suspended until further notice. WHO also paid tribute to its staff and partners working under dangerous conditions to deliver healthcare services in Gaza.mitv
