Japan’s Agriculture Minister Suzuki Norikazu met with his Bangladeshi counterpart Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid on Wednesday aiming to boost food exports to Bangladesh. During the meeting, Suzuki referred to the signing of an economic partnership agreement between the two countries in February.

Rashid said his country hopes for technological support in agriculture and food safety, hoping to boost imports of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products from Japan. After the meeting, Suzuki and Rashid inspected a supermarket in the capital, Dhaka. At the arrival, Suzuki said his country will work to develop markets in countries like Bangladesh that have traditionally friendly relations with Japan.
