Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe attended the International Workers’ Day ceremony at Hlaingthaya (West) Township Hall in Yangon on Friday.

The Union Minister read out a message from President Agga Maha Thray Sithu Agga Maha Thiri Thudhamma U Min Aung Hlaing, highlighting the government’s respect for the workforce, the importance of workers in national development, and Myanmar’s commitment to the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards.

The message also emphasized skills training, workplace safety, fair wages, and social protection for workers.

Later, the Union Minister visited a vocational training school in Yankin Township, where he received a donation of 10 million kyats.

In meeting with officials and staff, the Union Minster reviewed ongoing training programs aimed at improving employment opportunities, green skills, and technical expertise. He also inspected social security offices in Yangon to ensure proper services and healthcare for workers. The event concluded with presentations, discussions, and photo sessions with government officials, employers, and worker representatives.
