The defense ministers of Indonesia and Japan met in Jakarta Monday to sign a defense cooperation agreement, underlining the need to safeguard regional peace and stability in the face of global tumult. They signed a defense cooperation agreement, emphasizing the need to maintain regional peace and stability amid global uncertainty.  

Both countries highlighted “global tumult” as a reason to strengthen ties. The agreement reflects growing security concerns in the Indo-Pacific.
