The 2026 Inle Khaung Taing Luyechun Camp opened in Nyaung Shwe Township on Thursday. Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein inaugurated the camp and made a speech.

She emphasized that the camp aims to nurture talented, healthy, and capable youths with strong character and patriotism, as part of the Ministry of Education’s program to develop human resources for national development.

This year, 751 talented youths were selected, and five Luyechun camps were opened in Pyin Oo Lwin, Inle, Nay Pyi Taw, Chaungtha, and Ngwesaung. Award presentations were made to outstanding students, and cash assistance totaling 26.4 million kyats was provided on behalf of former mentors from 1964–1988.

FREE-LIVING amoebae are emerging as a global health concern, fuelled by warming temperatures and outdated water systems. While many are harmless, some can cause deadly infections and even protect other dangerous microbes. Their ability to survive heat and disinfectants makes them especially hard to control. Scientists say improved surveillance and water treatment are urgently needed. A team of environmental and public health scientists is raising concerns about a largely overlooked group of microscopic organisms that may pose a growing danger worldwide: free-living amoebae. In a recent perspective article published in Biocontaminant, researchers explain that these tiny life forms are becoming an emerging global health risk. MNL to hold 5 domestic competitions in 2026-2027 season
The Myanmar National League (MNL) has officially announced that five domestic competitions will be held in the 2026-2027 football season.The Myanmar National League will organize four league competitions and one knockout competition in the upcoming season. The league competitions will include the MNL top-tier league, MNL-2 (first division) league, MNL U20 youth league and the Myanmar Women’s League. In addition, a knockout competition involving clubs from both MNL and MNL-2 will also be held.The knockout tournament was last staged in the 2019 season and has not been held for several years, but it will return in the upcoming season. Instead of the knockout competition, the MNL League Cup was held in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons, but it will not be organized in the 2026-2027 season as the knockout format returns. According to the league’s announcement, 12 teams will compete in the MNL, eight teams in MNL-2, nine teams in the Women’s League, and the MNL U20 youth league will feature either 13 or 14 teams.Among the domestic competitions for the 2026-2027 season, the youth league will be the first to begin and is scheduled to start in May.
