07 May 2026 In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses. Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 5 May 2026 at 8:00 AM, while U Saw Sar Say (45 years old), a resident of Pyar Thar Chaung Village in Dawei Township of Tanintharyi Region, was working in an orchard about three miles northwest of the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists. As a result, he sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Dawei Township Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported. Similarly, at 2:25 PM, on the same day, U Zaw Lin Aung (43 years old), a resident of Ma Yoe Kone Village in Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region, was hitting scrap metal he had collected when he struck an unexploded explosive device, causing it to detonate. As a result, U Zaw Lin Aung died on the spot. Additionally, Mg Zwal Maung Maung (4 years old), who was present at the scene at the time, sustained shrapnel injuries, and was transported to Mandalay Public Hospital for medical treatment, it is reported. Similarly, at 9:30 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Pyin Oo Lwin District Public Hospital in Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as Ko Than Naing Oo (26 years old), a resident of Yar Pyin Village in Naungcho Township of Shan State. According to the investigation, at 5:00 PM, on the same day, while the victim was working in a sugar came plantation about one mile east of the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.
