Over 9 billion kyat worth heroin and stimulant tablets were seized in Kalay and Pyigyitagun Township, according to the report of Myanmar Police Force.

The initial seizure was made on April 12 when a combined team for Anti-Narcotic Task Force stopped and searched two vehicles at the entrance of Kalay. They seized over 48 kilos of heroin with the arrest of four suspects.

The investigation led to the further seizure of over 28 kilos heroin on the road to Industrial Zone in Kalay, and four more suspects were arrested. Further investigation also made the seizure of 4 million stimulant tablets in Pyigyitagun Township, with the arrest of one more suspect.

It is reported that the seized drugs have been transported from Shan State (North) to Kalay, and the key player is known as Ko Aung and he is still at large. The suspects have been filed a lawsuit in line with the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law and Anti Money Laundering Law.
