"The Ministry of Health will begin implementing a Heart Disease Risk Assessment Scheme, which is one of the new government's 100-day plans, targeting 100,000 people within one year, and will continue to work towards nationwide coverage," said Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win at the launching ceremony marking the commencement of the Heart Disease Risk Assessment Scheme.The event was held at 10:00 AM Thursday at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Health, where he stated that this scheme is one of the projects the Ministry will carry out during the new government's 100-day period. The Ministry of Health is currently operating Coronary Care Units led by specialist physicians for emergency cardiac treatments in hospitals with 200 beds or more.It is also reported that, starting from 2024, the Ministry has been sending cardiovascular disease trainees to Shaman ရှမန် Cardiovascular Hospital in China in collaboration with the hospital. Subsequently, Mr. Hu Cheng, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen ရှန်ကျန်း Charity Medical Science and Technology Company (Benefm), explained the project.Professor Dr. Nwe Nwe, Professor and Head of the Cardiology Department at Yangon General Hospital, then presented on the implementation of the Heart Disease Risk Assessment System. A video demonstration of the risk assessment system was shown, followed by a live demonstration where patients wore suits equipped with AI ECG technology, and software was used to analyze heart disease risk.The "Myanmar Heart Disease Risk Assessment System Project," a Myanmar-China collaborative initiative, will be carried out at Yangon General Hospital, Mandalay General Hospital, Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital, North Okkalapa General Hospital, and Kan Thar Yar Hospital.It will cover 100,000 people within one year. Individuals at high risk of heart disease, athletes, pilots, highway bus and passenger vehicle drivers will be able to undergo 24-hour heart disease risk monitoring using comfortable wearable suits equipped with AI ECG technology, without disrupting their daily activities.Using the data obtained through these devices, doctors will be able to issue detailed reports, allowing people in both urban and rural areas to receive personalized lifestyle and treatment recommendations without needing to be hospitalized. The success of this project is expected to promote the development of emerging industries in Myanmar, including AI technology, big data, data centers, and the biomedical sector, it’s learnt.mitv
