Israeli and Lebanese officials began a third round of peace talks in Washington on Thursday. The negotiations are being held at the U.S. State Department, an Israeli government official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Israel is represented by its ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, and senior security officials, while Lebanon’s delegation includes its ambassador to Washington, Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, and former Lebanese Ambassador to the United States Simon Karam.

According to the Israeli official, the talks are being held to disarm Hezbollah and reach an agreement to establish official ties between Israel and Lebanon. The previous round of talks between Lebanon and Israel was held at the White House on April 23.

IRAN’S Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday accused the United Arab Emirates of playing an active role in the US-Israeli war against his country. “The UAE is an active partner in this aggression, and there is no doubt about it,” Araghchi said in a Telegram post while attending a BRICS summit in India.
