Bilateral Meeting: President and India PM held a private meeting
At the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on an official visit to India, met with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the morning on June 1st, 2026, at the Indian Prime Minister’s Office (Hyderabad House) in India.
Upon his arrival at Hyderabad House, the President was warmly welcomed by the Indian Prime Minister, and the two leaders posed for a commemorative photograph. Following the welcome ceremony, the President and the Prime Minister held a private meeting and discussion.
Attending the meeting alongside the President were Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe, Dr. Kan Zaw, U Min Naung, Dr. Charlie Than, and members of the delegation. Accompanying the Indian Prime Minister were the Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, P. K. Mishra, the National Security Adviser, Mr. Ajit Doval, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Shri Abhay Thakur and other officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, it’s reported.
Afterward, the high-level Myanmar delegation led by President U Min Aung Hlaing attended a luncheon hosted by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. Before and during the luncheon, an Indian cultural troupe performed traditional songs from both countries.
Following the luncheon, the President signed the guestbook at the Indian Prime Minister’s Office, Hyderabad House. The President then departed from Hyderabad House, where the Prime Minister of India personally saw him off and bid him farewell, it’s learnt.
