The Ministry of Industry and MSME Development and Guangxi Economic and Trade Vocational Institute from China jointly conducted a short-term one-month sewing training course, and the completion ceremony of the No. 3 Sewing Training Course took place at the No.2 Industrial Training School (Mandalay) on Thursday.

Union Minister Dr Charlie Than attended the event and gave a speech saying that the Ministry established 8 Industrial Training Schools and also conduct the vocational training courses for socio-economic development of locals and more production of value-added products reducing country’s import volumes.

He urged the trainees to strive for development of garment sector while keeping abreast with changing technologies. Next, the Principal of Guangxi Economic and Trade Vocational Institute explained work completion for the development Myanmar's garment sector, and conducting trainees in accordance with set standards.

Prizes were awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winning trainees while completion certificates were presented to the trainees. The Ministry of Industry and MSME Development with the cooperation of Guangxi Economic and Trade Vocational Institute from China conducted No.1 and No.2 Sewing Training Courses in 2024 and 2025 and No.3 training course was currently completed on June 4th after conducting theoretically and practically to 20 trainees.
