Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than on Saturday visited the No. 8 Textile Factory (Yamethin).

During the visit, he instructed officials to plan production properly, to ensure timely readiness of raw materials and spare parts, to follow procedures and safety rules and to improve production efficiency and fire safety measures.

He also met with the staff and discussed ways to turn local agricultural products into value-added products to support MSME development. He said MSMEs are important for job creation and economic growth, and the ministry is working to support them through training, finance, and technology.

At the Pyawbwe textile factory, he emphasized for fully use of machine capacity, accurate calculation of production capacity, better use of factory equipment and improving product quality. He added that the factories already have a market for their products and urged all to increase production while maintaining quality.
