Myanmar to host 11th ACMECS Summit in Nov

Myanmar has been preparing to host the 11th ACMECS Summit in November, according to the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization.
Myanmar hosted the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Senior Officials’ Meeting via video conference on 25 February 2026, chaired by the director-general of the International Organizations and Economic Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ACMECS SOM Leader for Myanmar and attended by SOM Leaders and representatives from ACMECS member countries, chairpersons and vice-chairs of the ACMECS Coordinating Committees and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the deputy director-general of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, and officials of the relevant ministries of Myanmar.
Myanmar is currently serving as the rotating chair of ACMECS for the 2025-2026 term. The meeting reviewed the implementation of the ACMECS Master Plan (2019-2023) and discussed drafting a new Master Plan (2026-2030) and strengthening the role and capacity of the ACMECS Interim Secretariat and cooperation with development partners. — NN/KK
