Venezuela’s Interim President, Delcy Rodríguez, has appointed veteran diplomat Félix Plasencia as Venezuela’s diplomatic representative to the US, following a meeting between the Venezuelan leader and the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires for the Venezuela Affairs Unit, Laura Dogu on February 2nd.

Plasencia, a former Foreign Minister and former Ambassador to China, is expected to lead a diplomatic mission to Washington in the coming days to begin a “thorough review” of bilateral cooperation.
