An experience-sharing ceremony was held at the State Hall in Mawlamyine for the Mon State youth representatives who attended the 2026 Youth Peace Forum in the morning of February 4. Chairman of the Mon State Youth Affairs Committee, Mon State Chief Minister delivered opening remarks.

Following this, the Chief Minister presented certificates of honor to the Mon State youth delegation. Each of the Mon State youth representatives introduced themselves respectfully. The delegation leader, Professor Dr. Baby Win from Mawlamyine University, presented the experiences from the 2026 Youth Peace Forum journey via a video clip.

Subsequently, three youth representatives who attended the Youth Peace Forum presented the forum declaration. The youth representatives expressed their gratitude, and a traditional Mon dance performance, which had been presented at the Youth Peace Forum, was staged. The Chief Minister warmly greeted them and the attendees of the experience-sharing session.

The youth representatives who attended the Youth Peace Forum held discussions under the themes of the future of education, culture, and the youth sector, the future economy and youth sector, the future of technology and the youth sector and the future of sports, health, and the youth sector in Mon State, it’s learnt.

On the morning of April 14, Akya Day of Myanmar Year 1387, the Mandalay Walking Thingyan opening ceremony and the Zaygyo Thu Maha Thingyan Pavilion opening ceremony were held.The Mandalay Traditional Myanmar Maha Thingyan Festival's Walking Thingyan is bustling with people coming to tour and enjoy water-play, celebrating peacefully and joyfully. The Mandalay Walking Thingyan opening ceremony was held in front of the Walking Thingyan gateway between 26th Street, 66th Street, and 67th Street.It was attended by the Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, the Commander of Central Command, Brigadier General Aung Thay, the Speaker of Region Hluttaw, U Aung Kyaw Moe, regional ministers, the Region Advocate-General and responsible officials and invited guests.The Region Chief Minister, the Commander, and responsible officials cut the ribbon to open the Walking Thingyan. The Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Youth Affairs held a water-splashing and entertainment program to mark the eve of the Myanmar traditional Thingyan Festival at the Sports Training Camps (Gold Camp) in Nay Pyi Taw.The event was opened with a ceremonial ribbon cut by Union Ministers, Deputy Minister and party. The Union Ministers and party then enjoyed the performances of Yein dance troupes and ceremonially sprinkled Thingyan water on the dance troupes.The Union Ministers and party then actively participated in traditional Rakhine Thingyan. Staff dance groups from various departments presented traditional Thingyan songs and performances. On April 14, marking the Akya day (the first day of the descent of Thingyan) of the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan, festival-lovers enthusiastically, peacefully, and joyfully participated in the Walking Thingyan along the Mandalay Moat and at the traditional ethnic pavilions that reflected the Union spirit.Starting from the morning, the traditional ethnic water-playing pavilions were bustling. The public eagerly watched traditional cultural dance performances by ethnic men and women, played with water, and enjoyed local delicacies served as Satuditha (free charity food).Furthermore, the Mandalay City Maha Thingyan Pavilion was packed with Mandalay residents, visitors from across the country, revelers touring on vehicles, and those participating on foot. They all gathered to experience and enjoy the singing performances of famous artists, the beautiful Yein dances of young women, and the traditional music of Myanmar Hsaing.In the evening, the entertainment pavilions along the Mandalay Moat grew even more crowded with walking revelers, drawn in by the continuous flow of Yein dances and musical performances.Similarly, Mandalay's iconic landmarks, such as the U Bein Bridge in Amarapura Township and the Taungthaman Maezal Plain Recreation Resort, were teeming with families and groups of friends from various regions.Visitors relaxed and had fun by taking traditional boat rides on Taungthaman Lake, walking across the historic U Bein Bridge, and happily dining at the stalls selling local products situated along the rows of Maezal trees.Beyond just relaxing, visitors enthusiastically and joyfully celebrated Thingyan Akya Day by dancing and singing peacefully at the water-playing pavilions located within the Taungthaman Maezal Plain, it’s reported.mitv

The Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan, held at the Nay Pyi Taw Square, has been densely crowded with visitors starting from the morning of April 14, Thingyan Akya Day (the first day of the descent of Thingyan).At the Nay Pyi Taw Walking Thingyan, a wide array of attractions and facilities have been arranged for the public to enjoy include the traditional Myanmar Thanaka and Lahpet festival pavilion, the Htamane pavilion, Thingyan water-playing pavilions representing various ministries, entertainment and Satuditha (charity feast) pavilions, rows of food and beverage stalls, waterslides and inflatable playgrounds specifically arranged for children.At the water-playing pavilions, the Thingyan-loving crowds were treated to vibrant singing and dancing performances featuring popular songs. The entertainment lineup included very famous domestic artists and singers, performers from Belarus, and K-Pop singers from South Korea, all accompanied by DJs and live music bands.The public joyfully celebrated Thingyan Akya Day by enthusiastically singing and dancing along. Similarly, visitors were generously served traditional Myanmar foods at the water-playing pavilions and Satuditha pavilions organized by the various ministries, where they were seen gathering and eating heartily.Furthermore, consumer demand at the commercial food stalls was so high that some vendors completely sold out of their food items. To ensure public safety, the Department of Medical Services under the Ministry of Health has opened on-site healthcare clinics.These are on standby to provide emergency medical treatment and care should any health issues arise while people are enjoying the water festivities. Beyond the Walking Thingyan, various public recreation spots in Nay Pyi Taw were also packed with people relaxing and enjoying their holiday.These popular locations included the Nay Pyi Taw Water Fountain Garden, Nay Pyi Taw Zoological Gardens, Safari Park, and the National Landmark Garden.
