A 78-meter wind turbine snapped in half and fell onto a road in South Korea. The structure weighing dozens of tons collapsed to the ground including its blades and steel base. At the time of the accident, wind speed was at a maximum 12.4 meters per second. Installed in 2005, the turbine’s design lifespan has past 20 years but it received safety checks just last year by two certified U.S. agencies.

UK hosts talks on Strait of Hormuz
Britain hosted a virtual meeting on Thursday to discuss how to secure the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Representatives from more than 40 countries attended the event. The British government released a statement after the meeting.It says they discussed boosting diplomatic pressure on Iran over the issue, and rejecting the use of tolls. The Hpa-An–Kawkareik–Myawady section of the Asia Highway, a major trade route between Myanmar and Thailand, has reopened on Thursday.The road, part of the Greater Mekong Sub-region East–West Economic Corridor, is a vital link for cross-border trade and local transportation. It stretches over 165 kilometers from Duyin Seik Village in Hpa-An Township to the Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Bridge No.1.The route had been closed due to damage to roads and bridges, caused by the terrorists. Authorities have now repaired the infrastructure and restored stability, allowing the road to reopen. On the first day, a total of 640 vehicles, including passenger buses, cargo trucks, and private cars, traveled along the route between Hpa-An and Myawady. Officials are conducting inspections along the road to ensure safety, smooth travel, and faster flow of goods.mitv
