The Department of Urban and Housing Development (DUHD) has announced that five newly completed buildings within the Thukha Dagon Public Rental Housing project will be allocated to tenants through a lucky draw system. These buildings in Dagon Myothit (South) Township are one for the public and four for the government employees.
It is intended for individuals facing housing difficulties, granting them a five-year residency lease. The DUHD has issued a warning regarding scammers who are soliciting money with false promises of securing rooms. Furthermore, it clarified that if subleasing or transferring the unit is found, their tenancy rights will be revoked, and legal action will be taken.
The project is managed by the DUHD, and tenants are required to strictly adhere to the following rules: No individuals other than the authorized tenant and those in the lease agreement are permitted to reside; Subleasing, transferring, sold, mortgaged, or gifted to others, with or without money, is strictly prohibited; The authorized tenant must reside in the unit personally, without leaving the unit locked.
The announcement emphasizes that any breach of these regulations will result in the immediate seizure of the housing unit and further legal actions. — NN/ZN

China’s NEV output, sales expand in Apr
CHINA’S production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) posted yearon-year growth in April, industry data showed on Monday. NEV output rose 5.5 per cent year on year to 1.32 million units, while sales increased 9.7 per cent to 1.34 million units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Of total new car sales in April, NEVs accounted for 53.2 per cent, the data showed. In the first four months of the year, China’s auto production and sales totalled 9.61 million and 9.57 million units, respectively. NEV production and sales reached 4.29 million and 4.3 million units respectively during the period. During January-April, the country’s vehicle exports surged 61.5 per cent year on year to 3.13 million units, with NEV exports surging 120 per cent to 1.38 million units. According to the Myanmar Fisheries Federation, Myanmar exports seafood products, including hilsa, rohu, river catfish, seabass, eel, shrimp and crab, to foreign markets through more than 140 fishery cold storage facilities, while the relevant department annually renews operating licences for the facilities.Myanmar delivered over 10,000 metric tonnes of fish in April of the current financial year 2026-2027, generating over US$17.35 million, according to the Department of Fisheries.Myanmar sent over 8,900 metric tonnes of fish by sea, with an estimated value of $14.64 million. Over 2,480 metric tonnes of fish worth $2.7 million were exported to neighbouring countries via the land borders.Myanmar exported over 18,160 tonnes of fishery products in April this FY.Myanmar steadily exports seafood to 40 countries, including China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Japan through maritime and border trade channels.Seafood, including hilsa, rohu, river catfish, seabass, eel, shrimp and crab, is shipped to foreign markets, according to the Myanmar Fisheries Federation.
