Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held bilateral talks with Finnish President Alexander Stubb with agreements to expand cooperation in areas such as digitalization, sustainability, clean energy, quantum computing and semiconductors.

Addressing a joint press statement, Modi noted that Finnish telecom major Nokia’s mobile and network technologies have connected millions of Indians. He also referred to Finnish architectural collaboration in building the world’s tallest railway bridge over the Chenab River and the development of the world’s largest bamboo-to-bioethanol refinery in Numaligarh.

He also said the proposed India–European Union Free Trade Agreement would further strengthen trade, investment and technology cooperation between India and Finland.

SOUTH Korea’s imported car sales logged a double-digit growth in February due to robust demand for electric vehicles and German luxury models, industry data showed Thursday. The number of imported vehicles sold here soared 34.6 percent from a year earlier to 27,190 in February, according to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association. For the first two months of this year, 48,150 imported cars were sold, up 35.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2025. The number of European models sold here was 16,107 in February, taking up 59.2 per cent of the total. The grand trading value of the eight listed companies on the Yangon Stock Exchange (YSX) topped K1.7 billion from 469,160 shares traded in February 2026, according to YSX’s statistics.At present, shares of eight listed companies: First Myanmar Investment (FMI), Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings (MTSH), Myanmar Citizens Bank (MCB), First Private Bank (FPB), TMH Telecom Public Co Ltd (TMH), Ever Flow River Group Public Co Ltd (EFR), Amata Holding Public Co Ltd (AMATA) and Myanmar Agro Exchange Public Co Ltd (MAEX) are traded in the securities market.MTSH topped the trading on equity with over K922 million from 237,795 shares, followed by FPB with stocks worth K339 million from 110,606 shares, FMI with K249 million from 29,745 shares, EFR with over K98 million from 60,900 shares, MAEX with K72 million from 23,499 shares, TMH with K911.7 million from 3,930 shares, MCB with K8.6 million from 1,088 shares, and AMATA with K6.27 million from 1,597 shares.The stock trading values were estimated at K1.22 billion with 382,083 shares traded in January 2026.The stock trading in February is up by over K487 million, with more than 87,077 shares traded on the exchange compared to those of January. — NN/KKgnlm

CBM sells US$1.24M to edible oil-importing companies
The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) sold over US$1.24 million to edible oil-importing companies on 4 March, in addition to an injection of over 5.6 million baht into the market.CBM injected $1 million each into the edible oil and fuel oil import sectors on 3 March, along with selling over 470,990 yuan and over 631,800 baht in the foreign exchange market.CBM sold over S$35 million, 34 million baht and over three million yuan in February.CBM sold over $43 million, 65 million baht and over four million yuan in January 2026.CBM aims to curb the instability in the foreign exchange market and currency devaluation. According to CBM’s notification on 15 March 2024, it has been collaborating with law enforcement agencies to combat and prosecute those who attempt to manipulate the currency market under the existing laws. CBM allowed authorized dealers (private banks) to operate online foreign exchange trading freely as per the market rate, depending on supply and demand, starting from 5 December 2023. — NN/KKgnlm

Nationwide agricultural cooperatives top 18,000, benefiting 900,000 farmers
More than 18,000 agricultural production cooperative societies have been formed nationwide, and support has been provided to over 900,000 farmers to enable the cultivation and production of more than 1.6 million acres of crops, including paddy, groundnut, sesame, sunflower, pigeon pea, green gram, cotton and vegetables, using funds owned by the cooperatives as well as state budget allocations, according to the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.In addition, for seed production, 31 seed production cooperative societies have been established in 21 townships across 11 regions and states, producing high-quality and pure seeds on 1,835 acres.These seed production cooperative societies have also enabled the government to provide 1,549 member farmers with financial assistance equivalent to agricultural inputs, such as quality seeds, organic fertilizer, chemical fertilizers (urea and compound) and pesticides, under a post-harvest repayment system.Furthermore, it is reported that a seed exhibition was held in Nay Pyi Taw with the aims of promoting the wider use of high-quality seeds, strengthening the network between seed users and seed producers, and enhancing Public-Private Partnership (PPP) cooperation in the seed sector. — ASH/MKKSgnlm
