  • Deadline for individual applicant profile updates for 2026 JLPT set for 21 March

The JLPT Organizing Committee of the Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) has announced that individual applicants for the 2026 Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) may update their user information from 14 March until 4:00 pm on 21 March.

Once an application is confirmed, applicants can click the “User Information” button to make edits. However, MAJA strictly notes that updates resulting in a change of identity will not be accepted. The update process is divided into two parts: Part 1: updating personal identity information such as the profile photo, full name, ID number, gender, date of birth, and signature. The system does not allow more than three changes. Select the checkbox next to the specific field you wish to change on the left side of the screen. After entering the new details, click the “Request” button. If the request is not approved within three days, applicants are advised to contact MAJA directly.

In Part 2, applicants can manually update their own contact details, including email address, physical address, and phone number. After editing the fields, click the “Preview” button. If the information is correct, click “Save”. MAJA urges all applicants to log in and double-check their updated information for accuracy. The ceremony to donate printed copies of the Tipiṭaka and Aṭṭhakathā computer manuscripts to the State Ovādācariya Sayadaws, the State Saṅgha Mahānāyaka Sayadaws, and large Pariyatti monasteries with 150 or more monks in Bago Region was held Monday morning at the Buddha Atham Dhamma Beikman Hall in Bago.The ceremony was attended by 15 venerable Sayadaw led by the presiding patron of the Kyakhatwaing Pariyatti Monastry in Bago, Aggamahāpaṇḍita Bhaddanta Nyeyadhammabhivamsa. Also present were Union Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Bago Region ministers, officials, and invited guests.During the ceremony, the Union Minister explained matters related to religious affairs and donated the Tipiṭaka and Aṭṭhakathā computer manuscript books to the venerable Sayadaws.In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with members of board of trustees to ensure that pagodas, stupas, and religious buildings in Bago Region (East) are kept clean, tidy, and admirable.He stated that region/state governments, district, and township administrative bodies also need to supervise and manage, at various levels, the boards of trustees of prominent pagodas, stupas, and temples within their respective regions, states, and townships, it’s reported.mitv

A coordination meeting on diseases that have recently been spreading internationally, as well as other communicable diseases, was held on the morning of 1st June 2026 at the Meeting Hall of Office No. 4 of the Ministry of Health.The meeting was attended by the Union Minister for Health, Thet Khaing Win, who delivered opening remarks.In his address, the Union Minister noted that there has recently been an increase in cases of Measles in several countries around the world, including Myanmar's neighboring countries. He also highlighted the detection of Poliomyelitis virus in some countries within the region, emphasizing the occurrence of vaccine-preventable diseases.He further stated that the World Health Organization (WHO) had declared the ongoing outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. He explained that Myanmar is continuously monitoring disease outbreaks around the world and undertaking preparedness measures in accordance with WHO recommendations to prevent the introduction of diseases such as Ebola and Hantavirus Infection into the country.Following this, the Deputy Minister of Health presented updates on communicable disease surveillance and response activities. The Deputy Director-General (Disease Control) of the Public Health Department then explained the measures being implemented to prevent measles outbreaks, ongoing surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases, timely response activities, and preparedness efforts. The Union Minister and Deputy Minister subsequently provided additional instructions and guidance on matters requiring attention, after which the meeting was concluded. According to reports, Myanmar has not experienced large-scale epidemic outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases, including measles, and continues to place special emphasis on disease surveillance and monitoring activities.mitv
