President’s Office Ministry 2 UM attends reception for 55th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh
Union Minister for the Ministry 2 of the President’s Office, U Ko Ko Hlaing, and his wife attended a reception to commemorate the 55th Independence Day and National Day of Bangladesh held at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon yesterday evening.
Upon their arrival, the Union minister and his wife, along with other distinguished guests, were warmly greeted by Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar Dr Md Monwar Hossain, his wife, and embassy officials.
The proceedings commenced with the playing of the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, followed by a welcoming address delivered by Ambassador Dr Md Monwar Hossain. To mark the milestone anniversary, the Union minister and his wife joined the ambassador and his wife in the ceremonial cutting of a commemorative cake. After posing for documentary photographs with the attendees, the ambassador and his wife hosted a dinner for the invitees.
The event was well-attended by high-ranking officials and the diplomatic community, including Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and his wife, the deputy minister for Foreign Affairs and his wife, and the mayor of Yangon City and his wife, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as ambassadors, chargés d’affaires, military attachés from various Yangon-based foreign embassies, and resident representatives of the United Nations agencies. — MNA/KNN
