  • Over 1,000 YBS buses to run during Thingyan at standard fares

More than 1,000 YBS buses will be in operation during the Thingyan holiday to ensure public transport services, according to the Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC).
From 13 to 17 April, covering the entire Thingyan period, buses from 15 companies will run on 71 routes across Yangon.
The YRTC has instructed operators to maintain standard fares throughout the holiday. Passengers who are overcharged may report the matter to the committee, providing the relevant bus line and vehicle number.
Under normal conditions, the YBS system carries over 1.5 million passengers daily, with more than 5,400 buses operating on 141 routes. — ASH/MKKS

A tragic accident took place in Dindori, Inida where a car fell into an open well on Friday night, killing nine people. According to reports, the victims were returning from an annual function and felicitation ceremony organized by a private coaching class in Dindori town.At around 10 pm, near the Shivajinagar area, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the road and fell into a water-filled open well on the roadside.
