France, South Korea 'expanding cooperation' on nuclear energy
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said South Korea and France are "expanding cooperation" on nuclear energy and offshore wind power, while working at "ensuring security" in the Strait of Hormuz. Lee made the comments after holding a bilateral summit with his French counterpart in Seoul and come in the face of the growing energy crisis over the war in Iran.
Macron is the first French President to visit South Korea in fifteen years, and his trip coincides with 140 years of diplomatic relations.
