Meeting on Thingyan Festival: NPT Council member held meeting with officials
In the evening on April 6, Nay Pyi Taw Council Member U Zayar Lin held a meeting with members of the working sub-committees at the precinct of the Moe Kaung Hsu Taung Pyae Pagoda in Bo Min Yaung Ward to ensure the successful celebration of the Tatkone Township Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival and the Walking Thingyan Festival.
First, U Aung Thu, Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Township Management and Administration Committee, along with the chairpersons and members of the working sub-committees, presented their preparations and work plans including construction of the central pavilion, fundraising efforts, Satuditha charity food and Thanaka pavilions, traffic safety and festival security, healthcare services and traditional dance troupes (Yein) and entertainment programs.
Following the presentations, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Member provided additional instructions to ensure the festival is lively and that the public can participate in the water-throwing festivities peacefully and happily. He then inspected the construction progress of the central pavilion and the designated Walking Thingyan area.
Subsequently, U Zayar Lin and other officials paid homage to Bhaddanta Vijaya, the presiding Sayadaw of the Moe Kaung Pagoda Monastery, offering alms and cash donations. Afterward, they visited the reconstruction site of the Buddha Sasana Beikman, which was being rebuilt after being damaged by the Mandalay earthquake. The Council Member inspected the ongoing construction work and delivered instructions regarding workplace safety, it’s reported.
