The seventh day of the first regular session of the third Rakhine State Hluttaw was held in the morning of April 9 in the Rakhine State Hluttaw meeting hall in Sittwe.

First, the Speaker of the Rakhine State Hluttaw announced the commencement and validity of the seventh day of the first regular session of the third Rakhine State Hluttaw.

Subsequently, the Deputy Speaker of the State Hluttaw, Dr. Htin Lin Oo, presented to the State Hluttaw the proposed lists of chairpersons, secretaries, and members, as well as the duties, powers, rights, and term of office for the Committee for Scrutiny of Guarantees, Pledges, and Undertakings of the State Government, and the Committee on Local Planning and Finance, which are intended to be formed in the Rakhine State Hluttaw. 

Next, the Speaker of the State Hluttaw, Dr. San Shwe , announced that any representatives wishing to discuss the aforementioned lists of chairpersons, secretaries, and members, as well as the duties, powers, rights, and term of office of the committees, could submit their names by the deadline of 4:00 PM on April 9, 2026.

The Speaker of the Rakhine State Hluttaw then adjourned the seventh day of the first regular session of the third Rakhine State Hluttaw and announced that the eighth day of the first regular session will continue on April 10, it’s reported.

President U Min Aung Hlaing, along with Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, took their oaths of office during a session of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw on Friday, in the presence of Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe.U Min Aung Hlaing was elected as President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, securing a majority with 429 votes. U Nyo Saw was elected as Vice President-1 with 126 votes, while Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye was elected as Vice President-2 with 29 votes.U Min Aung Hlaing was nominated for the presidency by representatives of the Pyithu Hluttaw. Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, representing Kayin State Constituency-1 (Proportional Representation System), was nominated by members of the Amyotha Hluttaw, while U Nyo Saw, from Cocokyun Constituency, was nominated by representatives of the Tatmadaw Personnel Hluttaw.U Min Aung Hlaing becomes the 11th President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. During the session, the Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court of the Union, the Chairmen and members of the State Constitutional Tribunal, the Union Election Commission Chairman and members, and Union Ministers, the Union Attorney-General, Union Auditor General, Governor and Deputy Governors of the Central Bank of Myanmar, and Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman and members,  also took their oaths of office.Following the ceremony, President U Min Aung Hlaing later delivered his first address to the nation. The President said the new government will focus on strengthening a disciplined multi-party democratic system and building a federal union based on peace and national reconciliation.He stressed for promoting peace and cooperation among political parties and ethnic groups, improving education and healthcare nationwide, developing the economy, especially small and medium enterprises, reducing poverty and supporting farmers and rural communities, expanding infrastructure, transportation, and energy including renewable energy, and protecting the environment and natural resources.He also emphasized strengthening the rule of law, ensuring justice, and considering amnesty where appropriate for national reconciliation. In foreign relations, he said Myanmar will work to improve ties with neighboring countries and re-engage with ASEAN. An Oath-Taking Ceremony was held in conjunction with the receiving guidance from the President took place at the Presidential Guest House in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony, and took a salute of the Guard of Honour at the dais, while honouring with 21-gun salute.The President later inspected the Guard of Honour who later marched past the President. This was followed by the Oath-Taking Ceremony, where the Chairman of Union Civil Service Board, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Deputy Ministers, Deputy Auditor-General, members of Union Civil Service Board, and members of Nay Pyi Taw Council took their oath.President U Min Aung Hlaing later made a speech, saying that the new government will implement necessary policies and focus on national unity, peace, and development. He stressed that lack of unity has been a major cause of instability in Myanmar’s history and called for stronger ethnic unity and continued efforts under the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement.He urged all to resolve differences through dialogue instead of violence.
