During the Maha Thingyan Festival marking the transition from Myanmar Year 1387 to 1388, families of staff from the Ministry of Home Affairs joyfully celebrated the Maha Thingyan Festival in accordance with Myanmar traditional cultural heritage.

The opening ceremony of the Ministry of Home Affairs Family Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival was held on the afternoon of April 13 at the ministry's water-play pavilion, located at Office No. 38 in Zayathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lt-Gen. Nyunt Win Swe, and his wife, the Deputy Minister, Ma-J Gen. Min Thu, and his wife, the Chief of Myanmar Police Force, Ma-J Gen. Soe Hlaing, and his wife, the Permanent Secretary and his wife, Directors-General from various forces/departments and their wives, senior officers and their wives, force members and staff, family members and Yein dance troupes from various forces/departments.

First, Union Minister Lt-Gen. Nyunt Win Swe delivered a New Year greeting speech. After that, Union Minister, Deputy Minister, and Chief of Police Force, cut the ribbon to open the Ministry of Home Affairs Family Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival.

Subsequently, the Union Minister for Home Affairs and his wife and officials sprinkled Thingyan water on the Yein dance troupes and attendees. The force members, staff, and family members from various forces/departments joyfully participated in the traditional New Year Thingyan Festival in accordance with Myanmar cultural heritage, it’s reported.
