Emmanuel Macron said he does not plan to continue in politics after completing his second presidential term in 2027. He made the remarks on Thursday during an official visit to Cyprus, where he spoke to a group of high school students ahead of an informal European summit.

Macron stated that his involvement in politics was driven by a desire to bring about change rather than a long-term career plan.  He emphasized that his political engagement has been focused on advancing France and Europe and upholding his values, and indicated that he intends to step away from political life after his presidency ends.
