The commemorative ceremony for World Immunization Week 2026 was held on April 28 at the Loikaw City Hall. State Chief Minister U Ant Maw attended the event and delivered the opening address.

In his opening speech, the State Chief Minister highlighted that the event aims to increase public awareness regarding the benefits of immunization and to encourage greater participation and support in vaccination activities. He expressed recognition and appreciation for the dedication of healthcare workers and volunteers who strive to ensure all children regardless of race, religion, or location, receive their vaccinations.

Following that, a documentary and music video titled "Protecting Every Generation: The Power of Vaccines," produced in honor of World Immunization Week, were screened for the attendees.

The State Chief Minister and officials then toured the small educational booths on display. Afterward, they personally administered oral polio vaccines to two-month-old infants and provided nutritional supplements to the children, it’s reported.
