Deputy Minister for Sports U Nyi Nyi and Assistant Secretary of the Minister’s Office U Tun Thant, who attended the 2026 Southeast Asian Ministers Meeting on Youth and Sports held in Bali, Indonesia, from May 3 to 5, arrived back at Yangon International Airport at 9:25 AM on Wednesday. They were welcomed by U Tun Tun Oo, Principal of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon), U Kyaw Min Than, Director of the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Department, and other officials.

Following their arrival, the Deputy Minister and party proceeded to the Myanmar Convention Center (MCC) on Min Dhamma Road. There, they inspected the preparations for the 20th Southeast Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, which is scheduled to take place from May 14 to 18.

During the inspection, the Deputy Minister toured the competition hall, dining room, press room, secretarial room, waiting rooms, and VIP rooms. He provided necessary instructions to officials to ensure the facilities are clean, well-organized, and maintained at an international standard for the upcoming event, it’s learnt.
