During a visit to Angola, Gabon’s president Brice Oligui Nguema attended a business roundtable aimed at encouraging investment between the two countries. Officials highlighted recent reforms in Gabon, including updates to the mining and petroleum codes, and outlined investment opportunities through public-private partnerships (PPP) or build-operate-transfer (BOT) models.

An informal process between the chambers of commerce of both countries is underway, with a formal agreement expected in the near future. Several top-tier companies, including energy and construction firms, are being considered to launch projects in Gabon, with follow-up meetings planned to finalize investments.

The Ministry of Finance and Revenue has announced new measures to increase agricultural loan amounts as part of the 100-day plan of the new government.Keeping the interest rate at 5% per year, loans per acre have been raised up to 300,000 kyat for major crops including paddy, wheat, and others. Additional loans at 6% interest will also be available for purchasing farming equipment, from small tools to large machines like dryers and silos.The new loans for the 2026 monsoon season will begin on May 12.
