Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Malaysia King Yang di-Pertuan Agong in the Kremlin in Moscow on Saturday. He expressed hope that relations between Russia and Malaysia would develop steadily and thanked him for the visit.

Yang di-Pertuan also invited Putin to visit Malaysia next year to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The king, who is on an official visit at Putin’s invitation, became the first Malaysian head of state to be a guest-of-honour at Russia’s Victory Day parade to mark the end of the Second World War.
