Rebuilding measures are underway in Falam of Chin State as terrorists destroyed more than 200 buildings including homes and religious sites.

Armed insurgents caused heavy damage in the town, destroying 215 buildings. out of 2,256 houses in Falam. The worst-hit areas were Valine, Kyin Myaw ​, Talanlo, and Farhtauk wards. Some houses were completely destroyed, others partially or slightly damaged.

Religious buildings in Valine and Talanlo wards were also affected. The destruction happened because of illegal control by armed insurgents. The Tatmadaw regained full control on May 15, 2026, and local authorities are now working actively on rebuilding the town.

16 May 2026     In order to cause injuries to both peaceable civilians and administrative authorities who are striving to restore the rule of law, extreme terrorists provide financial assistance and instigate destructive activities, such as detonating explosive devices and remote blasting, against public roads, railways, government offices and houses.     Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 14 May 2026 at 1:00 PM, a report stated that two men with shrapnel injuries were admitted to Mindon Township Public Hospital in Magway Region. When security personnel arrived at the Hospital to conduct further investigation, the victims were identified as U Soe Min Aung (37 years old) and U Yan Naung Soe (34 years old) both residents of Pyay Township of Bago Region. According to the investigation, at 11:00 AM on the same day, while the victims were traveling in a fuel truck from Htan Pin Kone Village to Mindon Town along the Htan Pin Kone-Mindon dirt road. When the truck reached an area between Kywal Bay Village and Ta Mar Village, an improvised explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist exploded on the roadside, resulting in their injuries, it is reported.     Similarly, at 5:30 PM on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Mandalay Public Hospital in Chanayetharzan Township of Mandalay Region. When security personnel arrived at the Hospital to conduct further investigation, the victim was identified as U Saw Lwin (40 years old) a resident of Khan Sat Kone (West) Village in Natogyi Township. According to the investigation, at 12:00 PM on the same day, while the victim was farming in his plantation field near the village, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by a so-called PDF terrorist, resulting in his injuries, it is reported.     It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incidents to take effective action in accordance with the law.MOHA

Officials held ceremonies in Sagaing Region and handed the returnees back to their parents or guardians after signing agreements.Authorities also collected surrendered weapons, including pistols, rifles, grenades, mines, and communication devices. Cash rewards and support worth millions of kyats were given for the surrendered weapons and to help the returnees restart their lives.It is learnt that many of those who returned said they were forced to join armed groups, became unhappy with violence and internal abuses, and wanted to live peacefully again. Authorities also encouraged other members still in armed groups to contact local administrative offices, military camps, or police stations if they wish to return to the legal fold.mitv

15 May 2026     The terrorist groups, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG), with the aim of nationwide destruction, have formed the terrorists known as the so-called PDF. Under various pretexts, in some regions, they have been arresting, torturing and killing government servants, monks and innocent local residents, as well as engaging in armed clashes and carrying out attacks in wards and villages.     Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 13 May 2026 at 9:00 AM, while U Tin Myo Naing (aka) Kyauk Khal (43 years old), a resident of Khyo Pin Thar Gyi Village in Thegon Township of Bago Region, was at his house, seven so-called PDF terrorists arrived and opened fire on him, accusing him of being a “Decoy”. As a result, U Tin Myo Naing (aka) Kyauk Khal died on the spot, it is reported.     Similarly, at 4:10 PM, on the same day, while U San Lwin Htoo (56 years old) and his wife, Daw Swe Eain Thi (aka) Daw San Htoo (47 years old), both residents of Zay Tan Ward in Ywarngan Township of Shan State, were at their house, four so-called PDF terrorists arriving by two motorcycles and opened fire on them. As a result, the couple died on the spot, it is reported.     Similarly, at 7:00 PM, on the same day, while U Win Zaw (67 years old), a resident of Thone Taing Village in Kyarinseikkyi Township of Kayin State, was at his home-based-shop, two so-called PDF terrorists arriving by motorcycle and opened fire on him, before fled the scene. As a result, U Win Zaw sustained gunshot wounds. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a local military clinic, it is reported.     According to the above-mentioned cases, local residents are condemning and protesting against the indiscriminate shootings and killings of innocent civilians by armed terrorists, who intended to spread fear among the public. In response, security personnel, in collaboration with local residents, are intensifying security measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the incidents, it is reported.MOHA
