Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr. Charlie Than inspected MSME-related activities in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

He visited the Shwe Oo food production business in Oattarathiri Township, which produces products from konjac such as drinks, jelly, and instant noodles. He reviewed the production process and discussed ways to improve support for MSME businesses, including solving challenges and providing technical assistance.

He also emphasized following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and linking businesses with experts and researchers. The Union Minister also attended a training program on good business practices for MSMEs and gave guidance on improving value-added products from local raw materials, improving packaging, and creating more job opportunities.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the Mr. Bamboo factory producing disposable bamboo chopsticks. He inspected production processes and discussed future expansion, including using bamboo by-products to make pulp and charcoal. He also stressed workplace safety and obtaining international product certifications.
