Union Government Meeting : President delivered the opening remarks
“By learning lessons from the historical events and experiences of different political eras that the country has gone through, the government must strive, through good leadership, to strengthen the nation politically, economically, and defensively, and to enhance the country’s dignity on the international stage.
Union-level officials, Union ministers, and chief ministers of regions and states should also place importance on thinking broadly and acting comprehensively regarding political, economic, and security matters.” stated, President U Min Aung Hlaing in his opening remarks at the Union Government meeting held Tuesday morning at the Union Government Meeting Hall of the President’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw.
The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, Union ministers, and the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, while region and state chief ministers participated via video conferencing.
The President continued his opening remarks stating that the current government had now been carrying out state responsibilities for one and a half months. He said that when reviewing the country’s history from independence to the present day, it was necessary to analyze domestic political situations together with international relations.
He then gave a detailed explanation of the political changes and transitions that Myanmar has experienced throughout different eras. The President explained that the purpose of reviewing the nation’s history was to address the problems faced throughout the country’s past experiences.
He urged Union ministers and region and state chief ministers to remain mindful of the historical experiences the country has undergone. He stressed that lessons must be learned from past events to prevent similar incidents from occurring again in the future.
He also pointed out the need to maintain political stability, strengthen the economy, and bring armed conflicts to an end for the sake of national security. The President further discussed matters related to international relations, politics, the economy, and security, emphasizing the importance of broad and comprehensive thinking.
He also explained the government’s efforts to ensure that all school-age children have access to education to the greatest extent possible. Afterward, Union ministers presented and discussed matters relating to their respective sectors.
In response to the discussions and presentations, the President instructed region and state government officials to cooperate with relevant organizations and carry out effective on-the-ground measures to combat online gambling activities. He also gave guidance regarding the reconstruction of damaged public buildings in Chin State and the promotion of the sports sector before concluding the meeting, it’s learnt.
