Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, and Speaker of the Magway Region Hluttaw, Dr. Maung Maung Htay, along with responsible officials, inspected the land development process for providing land to Tatmadaw personnel and their family members who have diligently performed national security duties Thursday morning in Nan Kat Kyun  Village Tract, Magway Township.

First, upon arrival at the land development worksite, the Chief Minister, Speaker, and responsible officials were briefed at a temporary briefing hall.

Officials presented updates on various aspects, including the status of single-line road and bridge construction within Plots No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 designated for free allocation to Tatmadaw personnel and their families, specifically, the raising of road embankments and the laying of laterite gravel, the installation of two transformers and the construction of power lines to provide electricity, and the completion status of windbreak planting.

Following these presentations, the Chief Minister provided guidance on necessary requirements, coordinated with officials across sectors to address needs for expediting the completion of the works, and conducted an on-site inspection tour of the worksite.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and responsible officials inspected the selection of a 26.35-acre plot of uncultivated land located at Plot No. 1693, Htone Pauk Taw ထုံးပေါက်တော Village, Magway Township, as a multi-faith cemetery site. The Chief Minister then instructed the relevant departmental teams to proceed in accordance with land procedures and regulations to obtain usage permits based on the designated land usage categories, it’s reported.

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is replacing the existing ACSR 132 kV Magwe–Taungdwingyi power line with advanced aluminium conductor composite core (ACCC) cables, which can carry more than twice the current capacity.From May 22 to May 24, 4% of the upgrade work was completed. The remaining section will undergo power shutdown from 6:00 AM on May 29 to 6:00 PM on May 31, to continue the replacement. Necessary power adjustments will be made during the work, and residents have been informed through the local electricity offices.mitv

Old Vihicles Exchange Program : Scrapping of old vehicles and importation of EVs
The Ministry of Commerce has issued a notification on May 28 regarding the scrapping of old vehicles and the importation of replacement electric vehicles (EVs).The announcement stated that vehicles which have been in use for many years consume more fuel, waste public funds, increase the risk of traffic accidents, and contribute to environmental pollution due to excessive exhaust emissions. To address these issues, the government will allow the replacement of such vehicles with EVs according to the value of the submitted vehicle.This applies to the vehicles that are more than 20 years old from the year of manufacture, vehicles that can no longer be repaired to ensure safe driving and the vehicles that are less than 20 years old but whose owners voluntarily wish to submit them. If the owner submits Vehicle Deregistration Certificate Form (d) issued by the Road Transport Administration Department, one suitable EV may be approved for replacement import based on the type of vehicle submitted. The approval will be reviewed by the National-Level Leading Committee for the Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries.In addition, the required foreign currency for the import will be sold by the Central Bank of Myanmar at an appropriate exchange rate.mitv

According to the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, licences were issued for 22 new hotels, 23 new guesthouses and 46 new tour companies in Kachin State during the past five years.At present, a total of 66 hotels, 31 guesthouses with 2,950 rooms altogether, and 81 tour companies are operating in Kachin State.In order to promote the development of the hotel sector and improve service quality, upgrading training courses is being conducted so that tourists can be provided with quality services.Among the well-known tourist destinations in Kachin State are the snow mountain region and mountain-climbing tours in PutaO District, the Mulashidi Suspension Bridge, Malikha Waterfall, Nat Kyun, Gubar Rest House and Kaunghmulon Pagoda. — ASH/KZLgnlm
