An Awarding Ceremony for the 78th Tipiṭakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination was held at Thiri Mingala KabaAye Hill in Yangon on Friday.

Vice President U Nyo Saw attended the ceremony, and presented certificates and titles to the recipient Sayadaws and members of the Sangha.

Recipients included one Tipitakakovida title recipient, 3 original Abhidhamika recipients, 3 Dīghanikāya Kovida recipients, 1 Dīghabhaṇaka recipient, 7 Vinaya Kovida recipients, 28 Vinayadhara recipients, 11 Upatthāvibhanga Kovida recipients, and 46 Upatthāvibhangadhara recipients. The exam aims to recognize highly knowledgeable Buddhist monks and promote Buddhist education.

Since its start in 1948, the examination has produced distinguished monastic scholars, with the current 78th session highlighting 18th outstanding graduate.

The Nay Pyi Taw Amateur & Junior Open Championship (Road to Myanmar Junior National Team) Golf Tournament commenced on Friday.The tournament is organized by the Myanmar Golf Federation under the guidance of the Ministry of Sports as part of the government’s 100-day plan. Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Kyaw Swar Lin visited training schools, regional military units, and military hospitals in Bahtoo Township on Friday.At the Tatmadaw (Army) Warrant Officer/ Sergeant Training School, General Kyaw Swar Lin inspected trainee accommodations, meals, health and hygiene standards, and training activities. He encouraged trainees and viewed the displayed items at the school gallery.He also reviewed animal husbandry and seed cultivation projects, ensuring proper implementation. At military hospitals, he checked on the treatment of officers, Tatmadawmen, and their families, offering support and foodstuff. He also reviewed new medical equipment, including a portable dental X-ray and CT scan machines, for Tatmadawmen and locals.Likewise, wife of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief  visited the Women and Chile Ward and comforted the patients. The Deputy Commander-in-Chief also took a tour around the local battalions and units by a motorcade, greeting the officers, Tatmadawmen and families.mitv

School Enrollment Week for basic education schools across Myanmar for the 2026-2027 Academic Year began on May 25th. At the Government Technical High School (Ywama) in Insein Township, students and parents are crowded for school enrollment process.Zeya Aung, Principal, Government Technical High School (Ywama) said "Under the government’s 100 days plan, our school is prioritizing for more school enrollment in the coming academic year. In cooperation with the related departments, arrangements are underway to offer opportunities for the out of school students who want to learn vocational subject. In the second week of June, we are planning to meet with the parents to be able to conduct knowledge sharing sessions on drug trafficking, road safety measures and educational seminar. Career consulting will also be conducted dividing into two sessions, career consulting with the parents and students, and discussion will be made with MSME entrepreneurs within Yangon Region for job creation."There are altogether 35 Government Technical High Schools in Myanmar under the management of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the Ministry of Science and Technology.Student, Aung Thet Khaing, Third Year (ET) said "I choose Government Technical High School for vocational training and my major subject is electrical engineering. After my academic year, I will work at the company and I will continue to learn the electrical engineering. I want to the students who passed grade-9 examination to join this vocational high school for their live insurance. "Student, Yamone Paing, Third Year (IT) said "The school is conducting C double plus programming relating IT Personal Area Network (PAN) and other IT technologies. The school offers stipend and free text books once a month. I was selected to attend Basic Aviation Youth Training Course batch No. 10 and I would like to thanks all the responsible officials."The students can submit for school entry until May 30th and the school entry lists will be released on May 31st. Registration forms are being accepted as a priority for those who passed Grade-9 examination in 2024-2025 Academic Year and 2025-2026 Academic Year, as well as for those who passed Grade-10 examination in 2025-2026 Academic Year.
