Hong Kong kicked off its first-ever official Comic Con on Thursday. The three-day pop culture festival runs through May 31 in Wan Chai, drawing global attention to the city's fandom and entertainment industries.

With over 150 exhibitors, fans can view exclusive movie costumes and props alongside a reveal of the new Spider-Man suit. Besides, more than 70 local and international comic creators are featured in Artist Alley, while a dedicated Cosplay Hall provides a hub for regional costume communities.

A rescue team freed on Friday one of seven men trapped inside a semi-submerged cave in Laos for more than a week, the group working at the site said. The seven men had been trapped in the cavern in a remote mountainous area of central Xaysomboun province since May 20, when flash floods stranded them as they searched for gold.Five of the men were located alive on Wednesday, huddling in a narrow shaft around 300 metres from the cave mouth.
